Hammers Furniture and Flooring had its beginning back in 1962. Hammers New and Used, as it was called back then was started by Loren and Evelyn Hammer and was located in a corner building next to Johnson Hardware in downtown Windom. In the beginning the store only handled used clothing and used furniture. As the business expanded to include new furniture and flooring, it became necessary to find a bigger location and it was decided to build a new building a few miles south of Windom on highway 71. That location was opened in September of 1973. The business still included used clothing, but primarily sold furniture, flooring, bedding and accessories. Eventually it became necessary to move the business back into the downtown area and after a few location changes found a permanent address at 327 9th Street, where they are located today. The business was purchased by David and Sheryl (Hammer) Eyberg in January of 1996. In June of 2021 the business was purchased by Bill and Vanessa Tjentland. Today Hammer’s continues as a full service furniture, flooring, bedding and window treatment retailer offering free estimates and professional installation of flooring and window treatments. Hammers is proud to offer their customers the best value for products along with friendly assistance. Our goal is to enhance the lives of our customers and the community.

Hammers Furniture has been proudly serving the Windom area for years. We're a family-owned and operated furniture store that was built on a simple idea: families deserve quality furniture at honest prices.
Our owner started this business because they saw too many families paying inflated prices at big-box stores and chain retailers. By working directly with manufacturers and keeping our operations lean, we're able to offer the same name-brand furniture at significantly lower prices. That's not a sales pitch. It's our business model.
